Have we lost it all?

Have we lost it all?

There are days when everything looks dark. When you feel your inner troubles are not understood by anybody.

Everyone has a page in their lives that they’d never want to re-visit. Lost jobs. Lost parents. Lost friends. Miscarriage. Lost marriages. Accidents. Lost business. Just name it.

But we often find ourselves in places where such pages are the subjects. These constant reminders are most of the time brought about by the people we hold close. People you’ve shared with. These are things that in a way or two drove some of us to the abyss. Some of you have never been wrecked before and it shows by how you’ve been articulating your issues.

My point? I’m of the belief that Mental issues should be considered a national disaster in this country. Look at the deaths we are currently experiencing. Look at the people who’ve been serving you memes. Look at how it’s become hard to live. Talk to these meme legends privately and enter their worlds. The other day a friend asked if there was anyone willing to adopt her children. The children she has given birth to. Painful shit. The comments were appalling. When we reached out she was about to drop dead. She had just seen it all. Glad to report she found a reason to fight for her people.

Let’s speak out, so you say. After you speak out those are the same things that form group discussions. It’s a good thing to have friends, the people I call friends have been genuine people. I can mention names but that’s left for another day. I’ll always reach out to them first before I wail or rather dance here. Find those genuine people or just a person. I’m a believer of family; helpful lot these people but there are people who have terrible family members; so what works for you might not work for everyone. Accept each other.

You people should be considerate when opening these pages about people who confide in you. You might be the reason for their hope; you might also be the person who kills them.

It’s Thursday afternoon and the rainy season has just begun and I don’t know how things will turn out but I still believe that things will work out.

  1. Sending you love. I know Nairobi is going through a hard time right now with the pandemic. What are mental health services like there, out of curiosity? There can be so much stigma around it.

May there be ease in this difficulty.
